Delivery 
Policy

Sweet Retreat Cakes offers limited delivery services for custom cakes and baked goods within our service area. Delivery is available at our discretion based on schedule, distance, and order complexity. Not all orders qualify for delivery—many are pickup-only.

1. Service Area and Availability

  • We deliver within 50 miles of Eagle Mountain, UT including areas like Saratoga Springs, Lehi, Utah County, etc.

  • Delivery is subject to our availability and must be requested and confirmed at the time of ordering.

  • We do not offer same-day delivery unless pre-arranged and feasible.

  • For distances beyond our standard area or complex logistics, we may decline delivery or suggest alternatives (e.g., pickup or third-party courier at your expense).

2. Delivery Fees

  • Fees are calculated based on distance, time, fuel, and setup needs (e.g., tiered cakes requiring careful transport).

  • Standard fee starts at $15 for local deliveries within 20 miles, with additional charges for farther distances, rush requests, or setup (e.g., placing on a stand at venue).

  • Fees are non-refundable once confirmed.

3. Scheduling and Timing

  • Delivery windows are approximate (usually an hour window) and depend on traffic, weather, and other orders.

  • You must provide accurate event address, venue access details (e.g., floor level, parking, entry instructions), and contact person/phone number.

  • Changes to delivery address, time, or instructions within 48 hours may incur fees or be declined.

  • If we arrive and cannot access the venue (e.g., locked gate, no one present), additional fees apply at $25/half-hour for waiting time, plus any rescheduling costs. We know things happen and are happy to wait if able but apologies won't be accepted as payment. These fees will be required before handoff.

4. Cake Condition and Setup

  • Cakes are delivered ready-to-display where possible (e.g., on board/box for stability).

  • For tiered or complex cakes: We perform basic setup (e.g., stacking tiers, placing toppers) if included in fee and time allows. You are responsible for final touches or any additional setup.

  • We recommend delivery as close to event start as possible (ideally 1–2 hours prior) to minimize exposure to heat, sunlight, or handling risks.

5. Customer Responsibilities and Liability

  • Once the cake is handed over at the delivery location (or upon your acceptance/signature), it becomes your sole responsibility.

  • We are not liable for any damage, spoilage, melting, falling, or other issues after handover—including during transport by you or third parties, improper storage, heat exposure, or venue conditions (e.g., outdoor events in hot/cold weather).

  • Perishable items like buttercream-frosted cakes require immediate refrigeration or cool conditions after delivery. We provide care instructions, but adherence is your responsibility.

  • You assume all risk for allergies, dietary needs, or venue restrictions.

6. Weather and Force Majeure

  • In cases of severe weather, road closures, or unforeseen events preventing safe delivery, we may reschedule, switch to pickup, or cancel (with deposit/forfeiture rules per our No Return Policy applying).

  • We aim to communicate promptly but are not liable for delays beyond our control.

7. Third-Party Delivery (If Applicable)

  • If you use a third-party service (e.g., DoorDash, Uber Eats, or courier), it is at your own risk. We are not responsible for their handling, timing, or damage.

8. Pickup

  • Pickup is always available and recommended for maximum control over your cake's condition. We provide secure packaging and handling instructions.
