Meet the Decorator

As an empath, there's nothing quite like the rush of satisfaction that comes from crafting a cake that lights up someone's face, turns a celebration into something magical, and lets me share in that moment of happiness. I've seen how a "silly little cake" can warm hearts, spark connections, and create lasting memories - and I get to be part of those.

Living with Type 1 Diabetes and Celiac Disease, I know firsthand how isolating it can feel when food - something so central to gatherings and tradition - excludes you. Birthdays, weddings, holidays… those should be for everyone. That's why inclusivity is at the core of everything I do. I specialize in delicious, beautiful cakes that are safe and indulgent for those with dietary restrictions - gluten-free, low-sugar, diabetic-friendly, allergy-aware, and always made with the same care and creativity as every other creation.

I want my cakes to express intent and belonging. My mission is simple yet powerful: to help make every gathering truly inclusive, so no one has to watch from the sidelines as I have. Everyone deserves to sit at the table, take a bite, and feel the joy that comes with it - together. Whether it's a whimsical birthday masterpiece, an elegant wedding cake, or a thoughtful treat for a quiet family moment, each cake is made with intention, empathy, and a whole lot of heart. I'm excited to bring a little sweetness, and a lot of connection - to your special occasions.

My Story

I started Sweet Retreat Cakes about 4 years ago because I wanted a meaningful way to provide for and support my family while being a stay-at-home mom. It began simply: I made my sister's birthday cake, and something clicked. I fell in love with the creative possibilities - the colors, the designs, the way a cake could tell a story.

From there, I dove in headfirst. I taught myself the craft through practice, tutorials, trial and error, and a lot of late nights. With every cake I made, I got better --- more confident with piping, more inventive with flavors, more precise with details. What started as a way to contribute to my family grew into a true passion and a business that lets me do what I love every day.

That journey taught me so much about resilience, creativity, and the power of food to connect people. Now, with my own dietary challenges (Type 1 Diabetes and Celiac Disease), it feels even more personal. I pour all of that experience --- the self-taught skills, the empathy, the desire for inclusion --- into every creation.

This isn't just baking for me; it's about building joy, supporting my family, and making sure no one feels left out at the table.

Thank you for being part of my journey.
